Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23rd December 1992. She is an American performer, songwriter, and actress. Her distinctive raspy voice is a signature of her music that incorporates elements of a variety of genres and styles including rock, country pop, pop, experimental and rock. With thirteen entries, Cyrus holds the record for the most US Billboard 200 top five albums of the 21st-century by an artist of female gender. The controversy surrounding her personal life, public appearance, and performances has often generated media attention. Cyrus, a daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, emerged as a teen idol playing the lead character in Hannah Montana, a Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana (2006-2011). She was Hannah Montana's first and third-five top five soundtracks, in addition to the US Billboard Hot 100 Top-ten single "He Could be the One." Cyrus's own discography contains the US top-ranked albums Meet Miley Cyrus (2007), Breakout (2008) and Bangerz (2012); the top five releases Can't Be Tamed (2017) and Younger Now (2017) and Plastic Hearts (2020); as well as Miley Cyrus & His Dead Petz (2015). The top five also included Cyrus's EPs The Time of Our Lives (2009) and She Is Coming (1999). Plastic Hearts, Cyrus' most popular album, premiered at top of the Billboard Rock Charts. The album featured the lead single, "Midnight Sky". She also released singles such as "See You Again", 7 Things", "The Climb" and "Party in the U.S.A." and "Party in The U.S.A.". "Party in the U.S.A." was an official Diamond by Recording Industry Association of America. Cyrus's achievements include placement in the Time 100 in 2008 and 2014, MTV’s Best Artist of 2013 Award and placement on Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Artists list for 2019. She is often regarded as one of the few examples of successful child actors-turned-singers. As an actress, Cyrus has made appearances in the animated film Bolt (2008) as well as the feature films Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009) and The Last Song (2010). In the world of television, Cyrus was an instructor on the singing competition series The Voice across two seasons, and starred in the season finale "Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too" of the Netflix series Black Mirror (2019). Cyrus is a passionate advocate for animal rights. She adopted a vegan lifestyle in 2014. In 2014, she created the Happy Hippie Foundation which focuses on youth homeless and the LGBT community.
